Synopsis
One day, a girl living alone suddenly gets fed up with eating frozen food and decides to bake a proper pie. A mysterious recipe leads her through an unexpected journey.
Why did I make this film?
This film was inspired by a quote by Carl Sagan - 'If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.'
I imagined what if this world has been created just because someone wanted to eat a proper apple pie. Hence, the idea of 'baking' a world was born. Then, I began to question myself what would have been the 'genuine' reason behind creating the world. It was the unprecedented loneliness I felt during the pandemic that I found the reason. Perhaps it was because she was lonely and fed up with being alone.
Through telling this story, I wanted to talk about the inherent desire to be with other people, reflecting a hope that we would all be able to reunite with others once the pandemic was over. The godly apple pie is the one you could share with other people.
